Dua lipa is an English singer and musician born on 22nd August 1995, in London United Kingdom. Her self-titled debut was released in 2017 after she had been signed by Warner Bros Records. The album reached 3rd place in the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles, including Be The One I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. top-ranked single New Rules which peaked at 6th within the United States. Lipa received her Brit Awards in 2018 for British Female Solo Artist as well as British Breakthrough Act, and her album has been certified platinum across the globe in a variety of countries. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. As a result of her maternal grandmother, Dua Lipa is Bosnian. It is also possible to trace her ancestry in Peja in Kosovo. The grandparents of Lipa's grandfathers were both history professors. She has two siblings, Rina and Gjin. Her father, a guitarist and lead singer of Kosovan group Oda, influenced her musically. She was influenced by her father's music which featured his music compositions and songs by artists like David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa started to sing when she was only five years old. At the age of nine she learned how to sing. Lipa performed If I Ain't Goin' to You by Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Her record deal with Warner Bros. Records was signed in 2014. Her first single was released New Love in August of 2015.
